Who is the ideal candidate for Breast Lift?
If you fit into the below-listed criteria, then you are definitely an ideal candidate for a Breast Lift surgery:
- A healthy woman who is facing physical or mental concerns due to her large breasts.
- A woman whose breasts have fully developed.
- A non-smoker. Non-diabetic and having no cardiac issues.
- A woman who is not currently breastfeeding or pregnant.
What To Expect Before The Breast Lift Surgery?
The doctor will ask you to take some routine blood tests in the week before the surgery. You may need to undergo a mammography to establish a baseline for future reference. He may also ask you to discontinue some of your regular medicines to avoid any conflicts with the surgery. If you are a smoker then you will have to give up smoking in the few weeks leading up to the procedure.
After the surgery, you will be kept under observation for a couple of hours. Your vitals will be monitored during the recovery period.
The Plastic Surgeon will let you know how to take care of your breasts during the recovery period. You may be given a support bra to wear as an aid during this time. The cosmetic surgeon will prescribe medicines and ointments to help you remain comfortable and pain-free after the surgery.
There may be drainage tubes placed to drain any excess fluid out. The doctor will carefully remove them during your follow up visits. Keep your breasts away from the sun, try not to venture outside in sunlight during the first 2 weeks after the surgery.
After the surgery, you will begin to witness changes in your breasts’ appearance and feel immediately. They will appear to be higher, younger and firmer. Generally, recovering from a breast lift takes about 2-3 weeks.
